Costa Rica Road Scholar - Spring of 2025

Here is the first gallery of my photographs in Costa Rica while on our 9-day Road Scholar tour. Joanna and I travelled with Lisa Nagle and Gerard Langlois for the "Taste of Costa Rica" to see the flora and fauna of the north-central part of the country. It was the first week in April and the weather was fabulous. We landed in the capital San José, and from there went to Sarapiquí, Monteverde, and Arenal Volcano. I travelled with a telephoto lens for my Fujifilm camera, because I knew we would see some exotic bird life and an occasional mammal, reptile and amphibian in the wild. These images are of the wildlife that we saw.

Costa Rica Road Scholar - Spring of 2025

Costa Rica is an extremely varied land in terms of its biology (plants and animal), environment (rain forests, volcanos and beaches) and geology (rocks and landforms). I am showing images of plant life in this series of images. The variety of vegetation across the country is dramatic, and we travelled only a small portion of what Costa Rica has to offer. These images were taken by me on our Road Scholar trip to the central and northern highlands of the country in April 2025.

Costa Rica Road Scholar - Spring of 2025

Here are the people we met and that I photographed while in Costa Rica. These are all candid photographs of the folks in our tour group, our guides and presenters and some of the local people. While my efforts concentrated on the animals and plants in the areas we visited, I also enjoy photographing people as they are in their daily life, out on vacation travelling or being in the limelight.
